Making Work Pay? Think Again…
by The Banter-er on November 17

In an administration whose policies have taken unintended consequences to a whole new level, the news that Obama’s “Making Work Pay” tax credit may lead to unsuspecting taxpayers facing tax penalties on April 15 shouldn’t come as a surprise. In a stunning display of simplistic governance and pathetic peddling, the Obama administration included a provision in the stimulus bill that included a paltry amount being “credited” to the American worker to help offset... Read more...

BanterNation: Which side of The Redistribution do you plan to be on?
by The Banter-er on November 8

We all know its coming. Where were you when JFK was shot?  What were you doing when you first heard about 9/11?  And coming soon to a formerly free republic near you, which side of “The Redistribution” will you be on? The so-called healthcare reform bill just passed in the House is the first of many steps towards shifting wealth from the productive in society to the unproductive.  Cap-and-trade is the next ploy to steal from wealth creators.  And you can rest assured that there are... Read more...

BanterNation: Will Taxpayer Funded Abortion End Up In The Final Healthcare Bill?
by The Banter-er on November 7

There was a glimmer of hope that the Queen Bee Pelosi couldn’t pull enough of her caucus together to pass a healthcare bill in the House.  With the kind of numbers the Democrats have these days, it was a long shot that some form of legislation wouldn’t eventually pass. But here we are – as Obama put it – at a historical point in time where 220 House members voted to vastly shift the relationship between the American citizen and their government.  Whether or not this process... Read more...

BanterNation: Best Way to Grow the GOP?
by The Banter-er on November 6

Get out the sleeping bags and propane stove, because we’re going camping! There’s been much talk of the GOP tent this week. The unique congressional election in upstate New York has rekindled the conversation about how best to grow the Republican Party. The most prominent of national voices are split on exactly what exactly should be done to lead the GOP out of the wilderness. The two schools of thought are: Return to Conservative Principles – This group argues that the era of... Read more...

BanterNation: How Would You Have Voted?
by The Banter-er on

While pundits nationwide debate the implications of Tuesday’s off-year elections, BanterNation wants to know what you think. Since exit polls can be interpreted every which way, it is up to the ideals of the beholder to decide what they really mean.  CNN and MSNBC will tell you that 60% of New Jersey voters polled say that their vote had nothing to do with Obama.  I would take that same data and tell you that the votes of 40% of New Jersey had everything to do with Obama.  That may not... Read more...

BanterNation: Which Number is Higher?
by The Banter-er on

To all the brilliant minds in Washington, from the Obama administration to Capitol Hill: Which number is Higher, 10.2% or 8.8%?  Enlighten us. The hacks in Washington sold the overwhelming “stimulus” package as a job creator that would change the fate of the U.S. economy.  From a whitepaper prepared by Obama’s people: As Figure 1 shows, even with the large prototypical package, the unemployment rate in 2010Q4 is predicted to be approximately 7.0%, which is well below the approximately... Read more...

BanterNation: Taxpayer Funded Abortion
by The Banter-er on November 5

Nancy Pelosi unveiled her power grab plans this week in preparation for a House vote on what is still being called healthcare reform.  At this point, anyone with half a brain knows its anything but. It didn’t take very long for House Minority Leader John Boehner to post on his website what we already knew: Pelosi wants all Americans to be forced to fund elective abortions.  Read all about it here. Boehner reports: Section 213 describes the process in which the Health Benefits Commissioner... Read more...

BanterNation: NY-23 Loss – A Big Deal?
by The Banter-er on November 4

So after all the excitement over the past few weeks, Doug Hoffman couldn’t quite pull off the improbable in the congressional race in upstate New York. First of all, this picture of him paints him as a goof…having never met him in person, I wonder how accurate of a portrayal it is.  If you wipe away the smile, he looks like a bona fide CPA. A Hoffman win in NY-23 isn’t an overwhelmingly huge deal, but it does give power to Democrats who won’t paint this election as a Democratic... Read more...

She’s a Compassionate Idiot
by The Banter-er on November 3

Abby Johnson has resigned as director of a Planned Parenthood office after 8 years of service because – get this – after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure. I’m not sure which reaction I should go with to this story: she’s a moral human being for doing the right thing, or she’s an idiot for taking 8 years to learn what Planned Parenthood is all about. Johnson cited that in the down economy, her superiors were pressing her to abandon pregnancy prevention... Read more...
