She’s a Compassionate Idiot

Abby Johnson has resigned as director of a Planned Parenthood office after 8 years of service because – get this – after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure.

I’m not sure which reaction I should go with to this story: she’s a moral human being for doing the right thing, or she’s an idiot for taking 8 years to learn what Planned Parenthood is all about.

Johnson cited that in the down economy, her superiors were pressing her to abandon pregnancy prevention initiatives, and to push abortion procedures.  Turns out that there’s more free government money in abortions than in teaching abstinence.  What a shocker.

Can this just settle the debate over “public service” organizations who’s sole purpose is to continue existing, which is only made possible by supporting and subsequently taking kick backs from politicians?
