Deficit be Damned: Government to Grow
by The Banter-er on February 4, 2010
We know from the State of the Union that Obama at least superficially understands that the US economy is still struggling to recover from deep recession. He knows people are increasingly out of work and growing more and more worried about the rapidly expanding federal government. He also acknowledged that deficits are dangerously high and that he is trying his best to address the issue.
So how does the anointed president respond to the biggest challenge his presidency? By doing the exact opposite of what Americans want, of course.
The Washington Times reported that the number of federal employees in 2010 is expected to grow to 2.15 million. The number of civilian workers alone is expected to grow by 153,000 people.
Need to fix unemployment? Put more people on the government payroll. After all, the fed can always just print more money to cover the cost. Need to reign in an expanding deficit and bureaucracy? Create more departments and redundant positions to fill them, adding additional liabilities and costs to the budget.
Its news like this that illustrates what is meant by “on the job training”. Obama has established a clear pattern of doing the opposite of what common sense and history suggests. Results be damned, Obama and the rest of the radical left will work tirelessly to remake America in their image.
