If Obamacare passes, so does Taxpayer funded abortion

by The Banter-er on March 11, 2010

The Family Research Council blog has 8 expertly documented reasons to believe that taxpayer funded abortion will be included in Healthcare overhaul underway in Washington.  With Rep. Bart Stupack raising a raucous with his opposition to the Senate bill’s lack of the Hyde Amendment language, abortion has taken center stage in the debate.  And while pro-lifers have taken heart in this tiny coalition who appear to be holding firm on their support for pro-life measures, those who understand Democrats still have reservations.

The point to remember is that the man for whom Healthcare reform is named is himself an avid proponent of pro-abortion policies.  President Obama’s embarrassingly thin track record tells a jarring tale of a young state legislator who took to microphone to defend a woman’s right to deny her living child a chance at life.

During the 2008 election season, I had a couple of “right-minded” friends who were duped by the charms of candidate Obama.  As upstanding, high-valued individuals, I was appalled by their blatant disregard for a piece of history that, in my mind, served as an absolute deal breaker.  In my opinion, even if Obama was otherwise an ideal conservative candidate, his track record on abortion trumped any redeeming qualities.

The current abortion debate reminded me of my thoughts at that time.  Here’s the emotional appeal I made then:

What do you think of when you hear about an abortion? The removal of a raspberry sized collection of developing cells? Do you think people ever go immediately to the thought of a 22 week old fetus being forced from the womb and left to die without a hug, kiss, or any medical care to speak of?

Anyone with a pay grade above that of a 3rd grader knows there is no difference between a 6 week fetus and a 37 week one. They are both babies and meaningful lives in the eyes of God and man.

I know several people who are so enchanted by the uh, uh, uh, uh eloquence of Barack Obama, that they blatantly ignore his heartless and radical stance on abortion. When I tell them about the Born Alive Infant Protection act that Obama voted against 4 times in the Illinois Senate, they cite a vast right wing conspiracy, and write it off as lies. I quote from the OFFICIAL ILLINOIS STATE RECORDS:

Obama on the floor of the Senate: “Whenever we define a previable fetus as a person that is protected by the equal protection clause or other elements in the Constitution, what we’re really saying is, in fact, that they are persons that are entitled to the kinds of protections that would be provided to a — a child, a nine-month old — child that was delivered to term. That determination, essentially, if it was accepted by a court, would forbid abortions to take place. I mean, it — it would essentially bar abortions, because the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would an antiabortion statute.”

IF THIS IS A CHILD??? America is about to elect to our most powerful office a man who thinks there is a debate as to whether a born, living, breathing child is actually a child! He admits that the constitution (not to mention the laws of God and common sense) forbid the killing of a child, yet shows his despicable position that if a woman chooses to pretend that her child doesn’t exist, then it isn’t a child and thus has no human rights and can be legally murdered.

I’m torn between wanted to cry about this and giving Obama a swift kick to his baby-maker so as to express my absolute disdain for his absolute disdain for human life. Was he too busy organizing a community protest with ACORN to attend his childrens’ sonogram?

If you, like I, have religious friends who plan to vote for Obama, please pass this information onto them. When we get to the judgement day, do you think the Lord will care about taxes, entitlements, education, or health care policies? No, but I believe He will hold us accountably for what we did to protect His precious children. A vote for Obama is a vote against the sanctity of human life.

Here’s my daughter Abby at 19 weeks.  My wife swears the profile is still the same:

Democrats in Washington will never let go of their desire to embed abortion even more deeply into American culture.  So long as we keep electing policymakers who do not understand or recognize the sanctity of human life, unborn children will continue to be under assault.
