Hope Index

Hope is relative

Conservatives hope for individual rights and the freedom to make of our own lives what we will.  Liberals hope for a country where an all-powerful central government grants unto them whatever plain, manufactured lifestyle is presently en vogue.  Who brand of hope will win out?  Track the tug-of-war weekly with the HOPE INDEX.

Keeping up with the whirlwind of change can be overwhelming.  To help you systematically track your level of individual freedom we have created the HOPE INDEX, a handy tool that measures freedom on a weekly basis.

The braintrust

The braintrust

When American voters voted for change in 2008, they started in motion a process that aims to fundamentally change the American way of life.  Whether inadvertently so or not, the results are the same.  Today in Washington we have three political heads and an army of ingrates who hope to dramatically shift the relationship between Americans and their government.  Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are in control of a Democrat-lead effort to erode as much of our individual liberties as quickly as possible.  They are using newly created laws, judicial rulings, regulatory mandates, unvetted czars, union thugs, media accomplices, and hapless liberal drones to push a radical agenda before Americans once again decide to vote for change.

How the Hope Index Works

The Hope Index is a completely non-scientific measurement of individual freedom and liberty based on five distinct, equally-weighted variables:

  • White House Policy – What Obama is up to
  • Congressional Legislation – What Pelosi & Reid are cooking up
  • Judicial Activism – Judges who like to make a difference
  • Popular Culture – Signs of the times
  • BanterNation – The judgement of the loyal banter-ers

Each week the expert analysts at BanterNation assign arbitrary scores in response to current events.  Freedom-promoting happenings are rewarded with an up-tick in the Freedom Score.  Freedom-killing initiatives…well, you get the idea.  Each Monday morning you’ll see the latest Freedom Score represented on the handy, attractive Hope Index.
